Upside Down Pictures is an American film and television production company founded by the Duffer Brothers, the creators of Stranger Things. The production company, which was created as part of the Duffers' overall deal with Netflix, was formally announced on July 6, 2022. Hilary Leavitt runs the company.
Upside Down Pictures seemingly replaces Monkey Massacre Productions, the Duffer Brothers' earlier production company, which worked on the first four seasons of Stranger Things.[1]
According to the Duffers, Upside Down Pictures will “aim to create the kind of stories that inspired the Duffers growing up - stories that take place at that beautiful crossroads where the ordinary meets the extraordinary, where big spectacle co-exists with intimate character work, where heart wins out over cynicism.” Upside Down Pictures is set to work on the final season of Stranger Things, live-action and animated Stranger Things spin-off series, and various other projects, including adaptations of Death Note and The Talisman.[2][3]
