The Turnbow House is the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Turnbow, and their children Tina and Derek. The house was of immense stature due to the extremely wealthy lifestyle of the Turnbow family, their main source of income being Turnbow Land Development & Realty. In 1987, the house was subject to a trap used to track an interdimensional monster, causing immense destruction.
History[]
Background[]
With the wealth from their company Turnbow Land Development & Realty, the well-known Turnbow family began residing in this house in Hawkins, Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. Turnbow lived with their two children, Tina and Derek.
1987[]
On the night of November 4, 1987, Erica Sinclair appeared at the Turnbow house with a pie that had been baked with drugs under the preface that she was making up with Tina following a falling out 12 days prior. Tina and her family welcomed Erica with opened arms, sitting down to dinner. Tina's mother mentioned how they had missed Erica, but Ken mentioned how he missed the pies Erica used to make them. While the entire family ate the pie, Erica pretended while Tina didn't eat the pie at all, thinking Erica wanted her fat. As the drugs kicked in, the family made quip comments about each other while Erica and Tina went back and forth about a kid named Josh who Erica had hit with a dodgeball, giving him a black eye. During their argument, Ken rises and makes his way to the foyer before collapsing. Derek found it funny before collapsing, while Tina panicked and their mother also collapsed. Tina yelled at Erica to call the police, before Erica forcefully injected Tina with the same drug.
After confirming the family was out cold, The Party removed them from the house and had Erica, Joyce Byers, Will Byers and Robin Buckley take the family to an abandoned farm. The Party set up the booby traps - a nail spike, balloons filled with gasoline, trip wires, barbed wire - before Steve Harrington used a chainsaw to cut a hole in the living room floor of the house, knocking over Ken's wine in the process. They planted a dummy in Derek's bed before the Demo approached the house from the Upside Down. As the Demo approached Derek's bed from a rift in the ceiling, Lucas Sinclair snuck up behind it, throwing the gasoline-filled balloons at it. A chase ensues as the Demo follows Lucas through the house setting off the trip wire, embedding nails into its chest. It chased Lucas into the living room, crashing through the floor as Mike Wheeler bashed it in the head with a mallet to stop it from clawing its way back up. There in the wine cellar, Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers set the Demo on fire, while shooting it with tracker. The Demo leaps up through the hole, coming face to face with Mike, who then beat it with a shovel, causing it to rip open another gate, flipping back into the Upside Down.
