Tanya is a side character in the comic one-shot Stranger Things: Erica the Great. Described as Erica Sinclair's "frenemy," Tanya is a cautious and honest girl.
History[]
Tanya lived on Maple Street in Hawkins, Indiana, near the Sinclair family and down the road from Miss Dorothy. While she personally found Miss Dorothy's house creepy, the elderly lady had a high opinion of the girl, though she cared less for Tanya's friend, Erica Sinclair.
Tanya is skilled at the piano. Her mother is very strict and dislikes supernatural things, though her father "doesn't ask so many questions."
1985[]
On a weekend where Tanya's mother is out of town, Erica invites her, Kelly and April to play D&D with her. While Tanya is skeptical due to her belief that "make-believe is for babies," but agrees to come as the other girls are interested at the promises of pizza and unicorns.
At Erica's house, Tanya is unimpressed with the game, mainly due to Erica's take-charge nature and inability to let her friends improvise or get creative. After her character is killed by the boss, Tanya angrily leaves, only to return with something "cooler:" her mother's prize-winning parakeet, Eliot. She smugly notes that Erica is jealous, and the two girls argue, causing the parakeet to escape and fly into Miss Dorothy's House.
Tanya begins to panic, fearful at what her mom would say. Erica then escapes her room and attempts to break into Miss Dorothy's house to catch the bird herself, and after a moment, Tanya worriedly follows. Erica tasks her with distracting Miss Dorothy while she catches Eliot, refering to Tanya as a "bard." Tanya is interested by the note that the bard contains more "charisma" than the Thief that Erica stuck her with earlier.
Tanya agrees, going to the door and claiming she wanted to check on her. She listens awkwardly to Miss Dorothy's warnings that Erica is a "rude and stubborn" troublemaker, and that her brother Lucas is unruly. As the tea kettle sounded, Tanya managed to escape for a few moments to fetch it, telling Erica to hurry as Miss Dorothy was "old and boring." She then plays the older lady a song on the piano, which causes her to drift to sleep until the dog, Daniel, escapes. Tanya promises Miss Dorothy that she'll fetch the dog for her and manages to escape.
She convinces Erica to accept help from their friends, and they gather April and Kelly, managing to draw out Eliot with birdseed. As Erica tackles the escaping dog, Tanya manages to catch her bird. Daniel escapes again, and while Kelly suggests they just let him run away, Tanya feels guilty, so she and Erica go to catch him again, luring him out with the caged Eliot.
The group returns Daniel to Miss Dorothy, who disapproves of Erica being out so late. Tanya stands up for her, saying that the whole group was needed to catch the dog. Miss Dorothy accepts Tanya's word for it and leaves to bathe her dog.
Erica then lets her friends make their own characters for D&D, and Tanya plays as a Bard/Thief.

Tanya is known to be very charming and able to present herself as responsible and careful, despite occasionally doing her own rebellious things. She is also incredibly skilled at the piano.

Possibly Tanya, in "The Mall Rats"
- While it is not certain, it is possible that Tanya appeared in the third season as one of Erica's unnamed friends. The friend portrayed by Kendall Denise Clark has the same hairstyle as Tanya in the second episode, shares many facial features with her, and like Tanya is the tallest of the group.
