Yeah, I have been drafting bits and pieces to go towards this. The currently existing version of the article is very much the bare bones of what needs to be there - this was rushed in response to the creation of the Ghostbusters article. So by all means, go ahead and add more detail. Since influences are such a big part of the show, I agree that it would make a lot of sense to develop and expand on this article. Glad we are in agreement! However, while looking through the wiki's image files, I came across this page created by user 80XPD. It seems they were drafting a similar article, but never finished it. Saint Elmo's Fire reference?[]
The character Billy appears to be lifted directly from Rob Lowe's character in the 1986 film Saint Elmo's Fire. Both his name, physical appearance, and much of his persona are carried from the latter film into the TV series. At least two articles online take notice of this.
