Why they did not film in California[]
(A) Netflix owns a studio in Albuqueque.
(B) New Mexico gives Netflix a lot of $$$ in the form of tax breaks for filming in NM.
(C) This is not speculative. I do pay attention.
(D) The appearance of California has not changed dramatically since the 1980's. It was not any more desert-like then as it is now, and had about as many buildings.
