Skull Rock is a rock formation in Hawkins, Indiana, located near Lover's Lake.
History[]
The rocks became a popular make-out spot because of Steve Harrington's escapades as a student.
1986[]
In March 1986, Eddie Munson used Skull Rock as a hide-out after becoming the prime suspect of the murder investigation of Chrissy Cunningham. Dustin Henderson became aware of the curse gates because of the magnetic field's disruption at Skull Rock. Later, Eddie, Steve, Nancy Wheeler and Robin Buckley used the Upside Down's version of Skull Rock to take cover from the Demobats.
Etymology[]
Skull Rock is named how it is due to its rock formation being similar to the shape of a human skull.

The Skull Rock scenes were filmed at the Boat Rock Bouldering Area in Atlanta.
