Nancy Wheeler owned a Mercury Grand Marquis Colony Park given to her by her mother prior to July 1985.
History[]
Sometime before July 2, 1985, the car is bought by Karen Wheeler, and or given to or handed to Nancy Wheeler.[1]
1985[]
July 2nd - 4th[]
In 1985, Nancy uses the car to finish her work at The Hawkins Post, using it to visit Ms. Driscoll in Hawkins Memorial Hospital on July 2nd.
The car is used to transport the Party around town and to the Starcourt Mall, stopping at Bradley's Big Buy to heal and stock up.
While at the mall, Billy sabotages the car, but the Party manages to fix it with the ignition cable from a the car model Eleven killed the Russians with; Before Billy can run into the car Steve rams into him with the 'Toddfather'.
The car is then used as a distraction for the Spider Monster during The Battle at Starcourt, and then driven back after the Monster stops giving chase.
1986[]
March 21st - 27th[]
Nancy uses the car to take Mike and her to school and investigate Chrissy's death at the Forest Hills Trailer Park with Fred.
The car is then used by Nancy and Robin to drive to Pennhurst Mental Hospital to visit Victor Creel.
Upon getting their cover blown, Nancy and Robin run to the car and escape the hospital. The next day, Nancy drives to The Creel House with the rest of the Party.
Following the inspection of the Creel House, the car is used to bring food and beer to Eddie and his hideout.
Later the group ditches the vehicle and replaces it with the car Eddie hotwires, leaving it at the Wheeler's as seen in the episode 'The Piggyback.'
Trivia[]
- In Stranger Things Season's 3 and 4, a 1987 Mercury Grand Wagon was used, although the correct model for the time period should have been from 1985 or earlier.
- It's one of the many cars to not be destroyed in the series with it surviving flayed Billy's tampering
- Karen being the one who bought the automobile shows evidence of her being the original owner but her ownership isn't shown.
- The Wheelers had another identical car in 1983, but it seemed to be either broken or scraped sometime before 1985, as Nancy confirms that her car is new and that Karen just bought it. (This is most likely an oversight by the creators of Stranger Things.)
