Mr. Hauser is a character from Stranger Things: Rebel Robin and Rebel Robin: Surviving Hawkins, voiced by Sean Maher. He is Robin Buckley's favorite teacher.
History[]
1983[]
Mr. Hauser was an English teacher and the apparent head of the theater department at Hawkins High School.
Hauser taught a Junior English class one day in which he chastised Steve Harrington and Tommy H for not paying attention.
After the bell rang, the class filed out. As they left, Mr. Hauser reminded everyone about the remembrance for Will Byers that night on the football field and encouraged everyone to attend.
Out of breath, a disheveled Robin Buckley emerged, asking if his previous invitation to spend her lunch hour in his classroom still stood. He confirmed it did, and the two spent the rest of the lunch period talking.
At first, Robin settled in and began listening to her French tape. Practicing aloud, she asked, “veux-tu aller au musée?”, to which Mr. Hauser replied, “Oui je voudrais.” After some confusion, he clarified that she asked if he’d like to go to the museum, and Robin laughed, realizing he had said he would.
It was revealed that Mr. Hauser had been to Paris, though he only knew enough French to order a coffee. Robin questioned why he lived in Hawkins if he had been to Europe before, wondering why someone sane would choose Hawkins. He explained that they wouldn’t let you teach English in France if you didn’t know French.
The conversation shifted to Barbara Holland, with Robin insisting that Barb hadn’t gone missing but had run away. Mr. Hauser seemed concerned throughout this conversation, both at the idea of Robin knowing something about Barb’s disappearance and at how keen Robin seemed on the idea of running away. He seemed relieved when Robin assured him she wasn’t planning on running away, at least not that day.
During their conversation, it was revealed that Barb had talked to Mr. Hauser relatively recently before her disappearance. He claimed it was just to discuss an essay assignment on George Orwell’s 1984, but Robin pointed out that Barb, a sophomore, wouldn’t have been assigned that essay yet, as only Juniors read 1984. What Mr. Hauser was hiding had not yet been revealed.[1]
