Various military police guards were posted at Hawkins National Laboratory and the Nina Project facility. The guards were the main personnel responsible for protecting the facilities from intruders, containing possible threats and, above all else, protecting and defending the scientists and other personnel from hostile activity.

The guards were presumably affiliated with the U.S. Military Police. However, many of the guards appeared unusually loyal to Dr. Martin Brenner. The guards had an unclear relationship to the Department of Energy, which itself was seemingly used as a 'cover' by one or more government agencies.

Appearance[]

The military policemen wear nearly identical uniforms to each other. They wear an all-brown long sleeve duty shirt with an off-white undershirt and matching brown pants. Their shoes are dark black combat boots. Attached to their left arm, there is a large black pauldron with "MP" written on it in large white letters. On their right arm, they display their rank insignia (Corporal. Sergeant, etc.) Non-ranking personnel who do not have rank insignia leave this arm blank. On the top of their head, they wear a white service hat with a small gold insignia at the front of it.

They wear a gold badge just above their left shirt pocket. Below that, an ID badge is clipped to the pocket flap. Just above their right pocket is a gold-colored name plate that displays the guard's last name. Attached to their left shoulder epaulet is a wired radio transceiver that connects to the main radio unit attached to their duty belt.

Firmly attached to their hips are duty belts, which are standard for any law enforcement related occupation, including Military Police. On the belt, there are two pouches in the front, both of which hold 9mm magazines for the Beretta M9 that each guard carries in a holster on their left or right hip depending on their dominant hand. On the backside of the belt, they carry other common equipment such as handcuffs, flashlights and pepper spray, as well as a pouch for a wireless radio.
