Kelly is a side character in the comic one-shot Stranger Things: Erica the Great. She is one of Erica Sinclair's friends and a Bard/Cleric in her D&D Party.

History

Kelly lived in Hawkins, Indiana, with her unnamed father. Her father would sometimes send her to do errands for Miss Dorothy, despite Kelly finding her strange. At some point, Kelly became friends with Erica Sinclair, as well as Tanya and April.

Tanya has an affinity for unicorns, being very interested in them and seen with a large unicorn plush toy. She also loves things that are beautiful and tends to be optimistic.

1985

Erica invites Kelly, Tanya and April to play D&D with her. The girls are confused by what it is, but Kelly is the first to be interested when Erica compares it to My Little Pony, believing there would be unicorns. When they arrive for the sleepover, Erica gives them their own characters and throws them into the game, confusing the girls; Erica makes Kelly into a Cleric, which confuses her. The game ends up being frustrating, and Kelly becomes stressed as she doesn't know how she is supposed to heal people. Tanya storms off after Erica kills her character, and Erica lets herself win the game and claim the unicorn, upsetting Kelly.

Tanya returns with her mother's prize-winning parakeet, Eliot, which fascinates Kelly and April. Tanya and Erica's argument accidentally releases the bird from his cage, and he flies into Miss Dorothy's house. Kelly tries suggesting that Tanya look inside Miss Dorothy's house, which upsets Tanya; she then suggests that Tanya call her mom. Erica then escapes the room to save the bird, followed quickly by Tanya.

Erica and Tanya then later fetch the other girls, telling them that they need their help, as they accidentally also released Miss Dorothy's dog. The girls are convinced after Erica admits that she can't do everything herself. Kelly and April help Tanya ambush and catch the bird, though the dog once again escapes. Kelly suggests that they don't need to get the dog, as Miss Dorothy doesn't know it was their fault they lost him, but Erica and Tanya manage to catch him anyway. The four of them then go to Miss Dorothy's house, and Tanya tells her that all of them worked together to catch him.

Erica then lets her friends make their own characters for D&D, and while Kelly wants to play as a Bard, she asks if she can play as a Bard/Cleric so that they can have a healer.

• While it is not certain, it is possible that Kelly appeared in the third season as one of Erica's unnamed friends. The friend portrayed by Alayna Burgess has similar features to Kelly, including her height in regards to the other girls, and in "The Case of the Missing Lifeguard" has the same hairstyle as April does in the comic.
