Joseph "Joe" Chrest (born September 15, 1965) is an American actor and academic. He first debuted on screen in the 1993 film King of the Hill, directed by Steven Soderbergh. He portrays Ted Wheeler in Stranger Things.

Chrest's other roles include David Schmidt in 21 Jump Street and as Amos Deason in Free State of Jones. He has also appeared on stage, and had a minor role in the Ant-Man and Hunger Games film franchises. Chrest is also an adjunct professor at the School of Theatre in Louisiana State University's College of Music & Dramatic Arts.[1]
