Joseph "Joe" Chrest (born September 15, 1965) is an American actor and academic. He first debuted on screen in the 1993 film King of the Hill , directed by Steven Soderbergh. He portrays Ted Wheeler in Stranger Things .
Chrest's other roles include David Schmidt in 21 Jump Street and as Amos Deason in Free State of Jones . He has also appeared on stage, and had a minor role in the Ant-Man and Hunger Games film franchises. Chrest is also an adjunct professor at the School of Theatre in Louisiana State University's College of Music & Dramatic Arts.[1]
