Dr. Zharkov, portrayed by Arthur Darbinyan, was a minor antagonist in the third season of Stranger Things. Stationed at the Starcourt base, Zharkov was a Soviet doctor specialized in torture. He was electrocuted to death by Dustin Henderson.

Dr. Zharkov was a Russian scientist working for Commander Ozerov, who specializes in torturing hostages. Dr. Zharkov injected Steve and Robin with truth serum and nearly ripped out Steve's fingernail until Robin confessed how they found the Russian base. Before Ozerov and Zharkov could do any more harm to their hostages, an alarm system went off, leading Ozerov to investigate. Once he was gone, Dustin Henderson and Erica Sinclair burst into the room, with Dustin killing Dr. Zharkov with an electrocution rod, saving Steve and Robin.
Personality and traits[]
Little to nothing is known about his personality, but it can be assumed that he took pleasure in torturing his patients even if they were teenagers, and was loyal to his Motherland.
