Diane (formerly Hopper) portrayed by Jerri Tubbs, is the ex-wife of Jim Hopper and the mother of the late Sara Hopper. Diane and Jim were together for seven years, but divorced after the death of their daughter. Diane later remarried and had another child.
Diane was married to Jim Hopper for seven years. They had a daughter together named Sara. One day while the three were at a park, Sara began hyperventilating. Jim attempted to calm her down, but ultimately, she had to be taken to a hospital.
Sara was diagnosed with cancer and treated with chemotherapy. Eventually, Sara began to die, and Diane watched as doctors attempted to revive her daughter to no avail.
After the death of her child, Diane and Jim divorced. She later married a man named Bill and had a second child with him.
Diane received a phone call from Jim in November 1983. He told her that he did not regret any of the seven years he spent with her, even after everything that happened. Diane asked if he had been drinking, and he answered "No." Her baby started crying, and Jim said that he had been drinking after all. He told her to take care of herself and to say hi to Bill, then promptly hung up on her. Diane tried to call him back, but he did not answer.
