From October 1985 to March 1986, the Byers family and Eleven lived at a residence in Lenora Hills, California.
History[]
1985[]
Following the events of July 4, 1985, Eleven began residing with the Byers. In October 1985, Joyce, Jonathan, Will, and Eleven moved away from Hawkins. They settled in another house in Lenora Hills, California.[2] Dr. Sam Owens apparently assisted them in this move and paying for the house, believing they would be safe if they moved far away from Hawkins.[3]
1986[]
On March 22, 1986, Murray Bauman came to the Byers House to visit Joyce and investigate the mysterious letter she received from a Russian man named "Enzo" who claimed Jim Hopper was still alive.[4]
Later that evening, Mike, Will, Jonathan, Eleven, and Argyle joined Joyce and Murray for a dinner, which Murray cooked. Joyce and Murray told them they would be flying to Alaska, but lied about why they were going there.[1]
On March 23, 1986, Eleven was arrested at the house by the police for her attack on Angela. Later, that night, Mike, Jonathan, and Will were visited by Agent Ellen Stinson and her two colleagues to inform them that El had been rescued from police custody and she was being taken by Sam Owens to regain her powers, along with a murder spree happening in Hawkins. Stinson also informed the boys that they cannot contact their friends due to a faction within the government believing El to be responsible for the murders in Hawkins before leaving them in the care of her colleagues.[5]
On Monday, March 24, agents of Colonel Sullivan attacked the house. Mike, Will, Jonathan, and Argyle fled along with a badly wounded and dying Agent Harmon.[6]

In comparison to the Byers' former residence in Hawkins, their new house in California is incredibly lavish and larger in scale, having three floors and a balcony.

- Main Bedroom w/Bathroom (Joyce) (Unseen) - Despite it not making an appearance within the show, the room was fully furnished and used as a hang out room for the actors and crew, as seen in behind the scenes. A small balcony leading to outside it attached.

The house used for exterior shots is located at 13212 Montgomery Boulevard NE in Albuquerque, New Mexico, while the interior of the house was built on a stage in Albuquerque Studios.
