History[]
Birth and early life[]
Alice Creel was born sometime between 1944 and 1949 to Victor and Virginia Creel, and had a brother named Henry; Henry was probably her older brother. Alice spent much of her childhood living with her family in Rachel, Nevada.[4]
After Henry experienced a troubling incident, Henry apparently lost control and paralysed another boy, which was one factor behind Victor and Virginia deciding to move the family out of Nevada.
According to another account, the Creels lived in South Bend before relocating to Hawkins.[3]
The move to Hawkins[]
Some time between 1957 and March 1959[5], Virginia's great-uncle had passed away, leaving her a small fortune that was used to buy a large house in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. Victor and Virginia hoped the move could mark a fresh start for Henry and Alice; unlike Henry, Alice was excited about their new home and new life.
After a month of peace, strange and disturbing things started occurring. In one incident, Alice was playing in the garden with her toys when she came across a dead rabbit on the lawn, one of the many dead animals and pets that were being discovered throughout Hawkins. Frightened, Alice ran back inside the house. Alice also began having nightmares and hallucinations around this time, as did her parents.
This was all, directly or indirectly, the doing of her brother, Henry, though Henry was at least partially influenced by an external force.[4] In another incident, Henry tipped out a jar of black widow spiders onto Alice's bed in the dead of night.[6]
The tragedy[]
As the Creels sat around the dinner table on March 14, 1959,[5] the family noticed the lights flickering, and Victor was distracted when the radio apparently turned on by itself. Moments later, Virginia was suddenly launched into the air and mutilated by an unseen force, the bones in her limbs breaking and her eyes imploding in their sockets. She fell to the table, dead, in front of a screaming Alice. Though Victor and Alice didn't realize it, Henry was responsible for the murder.
Ignorant of his son's bloody nose, Victor grabbed his children and attempted to escape through the front door, but Henry used his powers to jam the lock, while making Victor hallucinate back to his traumatic experiences. While Victor was hypnotized, Henry killed Alice the same way as their mother.
Alice's body was found by her father in the hallway, when he snapped out of the forced hallucination. She lay alongside her brother, who was alive but in a coma.
Legacy[]
Years later, upon being banished to Dimension X, Henry soon stumbled upon a sentient cloud of black particles; the entity first adopted the voice and form of Alice, Virginia and Victor before settling on the likeness of Dr. Martin Brenner.
A vestige of Alice's mind remained with Vecna's mindscape, which Vecna called one of his "trophies".[6]
Personality[]
Alice was a cheerful and energetic kid excited about her new home and new life in Hawkins. She played with toys and loved cute animals. Alice's love of cute animals heightened her shock when the dead bodies of various creatures and pets started being found around the neighborhood.[2]

Trivia[]
Alice's age[]
- Alice Creel's exact age and date of birth is a point of contention:
- Alice is described as a fifteen-year-old in a newspaper article shown in "The Monster and the Superhero".
- However, the actress who portrayed Alice, Livi Birch, was eleven years old at the time of filming, and Alice was generally portrayed as being younger than Henry. The actor for young Henry, Raphael Luce, is also two years older than Livi Birch. This all suggests that Alice's age in the newspaper article was a production error.[1]
- A casting call for the upcoming Broadway production of Stranger Things: The First Shadow describes Alice as around 10 to 11 years old.[2]
- Alice is described as a fifteen-year-old in a newspaper article shown in "The Monster and the Superhero".
- Due to the wiki's rules surrounding canonicity, Alice's age is listed as a range between 10 and 15, and her birth year between 1945 and 1949.[canon-rationale 1]
General trivia[]
- Some fan theories circulating online following the release of Stranger Things 4 speculated that Karen Wheeler and Alice Creel were somehow the same person, the main apparent link between the characters being their similar age. However, these theories were firmly debunked by the release of Stranger Things: The First Shadow, which depicts Karen and Alice as completely separate characters.[4]
