- January 20: The first issue of Stranger Things: Into the Fire was released.
- January 22: The graphic novel Stranger Things: Zombie Boys was released.
January-February[]
- Unknown date: Filming commenced on the fourth season in Atlanta, Georgia.
February[]
- February 12: The second issue of Stranger Things: Into the Fire was released.
March[]
- March 3: Brett Gelman (Murray Bauman) was announced to be promoted from recurring to a regular cast member.[1]
- March 16: Filming was halted due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic along with all of Netflix's productions.[2]
- March 25: The third issue of Stranger Things: Into the Fire was released.
July[]
- July 8: The fourth and final issue of Stranger Things: Into the Fire was released.
- July 28: The graphic novel version of Stranger Things: Into the Fire was released.[3]
- July 29: The one-shot comic Stranger Things: FCBD 2020 was released on Free Comic Book Day.
September[]
- September 1: The graphic novel Stranger Things: The Bully was released.
- September 28: Filming for the fourth season resumed after six months of delays.[4]
- September 30: The first issue of Stranger Things: Science Camp was released.

- October 21: The one-shot comic Stranger Things Halloween Special One-Shot was released.

- The second issue of Stranger Things: Science Camp was released.
- Stranger Things: The Drive-Into Experience, an interactive theater adventure based on season 3, was released.
November[]
- November 4: The first issue of Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons was released.
- November 6: Stranger Things Day was held by Netflix.
- November 20: Three new series regulars were announced: Eduardo Franco as Argyle, Joseph Quinn as Eddie Munson, and Jamie Campbell Bower as "Peter Ballard". Five new recurring cast members were also announced: Tom Wlaschiha as Dmitri, Sherman Augustus as Lt. Colonel Sullivan, Mason Dye as Jason Carver, Nikolai Nikolaeff as Yuri, and Robert Englund as Victor Creel.[5]
- November 25: The third issue of Stranger Things: Science Camp was released.
December[]
- December 2: The second issue of Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons was released.
- December 30: The fourth and final issue of Stranger Things: Science Camp was released.
