Nope. That's different, they had no stakes back then. Shutting down the machine and pep talking Eleven are very high stakes that these characters are smart enough to realize the need to hurry

Eddie is a drug dealer, Billy is a partier, it's not a stretch to say they probably met off screen

Yeah, it is Joyce's fault too, for staring into hoppers eyes for so long instead of just pulling the scarf, billy wouldn't have died, Max wouldn't have been sad, they would have an extra body when taking on the bats, so Eddie would be fine too

The time it took for will to say his speech so Mike could man up and Give one to eleven was enough time to stop vecna before he snapped Max to pieces

Mike is awful. If he didn't have so low self esteem, despite being a little shiz who looks down on everyone, max would be alive.

Oh speaking of El/Will, I would absolutely read a fic with them in a Cruel Intentions style (with them older, obviously)

People’s opinions can change once they’ve had time to reflect. Season 3 was fun, season 4 was bleak.
