And spelt, for that matter? Cause I have no distinct memory of anyone saying ‘flayer’ (with two syllables [flay-er]) when in reference to the Mind Flayer. Just ‘Mind Flare’. I know it’s ‘flayer’ in the story and on this wiki, but…

I recognise that it's called the mind flayer in canon, and the dnd monster its based off of. But as I said in my post, I have no distinct memory of anyone calling it the mind flayer

But like.... where does Henry's accent come from? Obviously Jamie Bower is English but like, in canon both his parents are American and even after their deaths and he gets 'placed' with Brenner, another American. Even his the actors who portrayed him as a child/teen were American.
So what gives? Where'd the accent come from? It doesn't really matter in the long run, Jamie did a fantastic job and I couldn't imagine any other actor in that role. Besides, English people with very distinctly English accents make for great antagonists from a stylistic perspective.
My personal theory, just cause I want to rationalise the accent in-universe, is it's false and lot of the doctors in HNL were English, so when Henry was 001, he started to mimic it. This wouldn't be enough to make Henry sound like he was genuinely English, but rather give him a American/English hybrid accent (likely American sounding with minor English inflections and pronunciations). Then later when Brenner put Soteria in his neck, part of erasing 001/Henry was making him seem as different as possible to his identity as an experiment, which included changing his voice/speaking patterns.
Idk, this is just an itch I've needed to scratch forever and never actually got around to talking about it.
Eddie probably shouldn't have stood on the table, for hopefully obvious reasons, and he did poke the bear when he yelled to Jason. But Jason responded and seemingly got a response no one was suprised to recive when you respond to a 'satanist'.
