My Theory- The three seasons are set around a holiday or season, so because of this I think it would be based around Christmas time. If it is then it would be based more so in Hawkins or Russia since El and Mike made plans for Christmas to be celebrated in Hawkins. Also, since Hopper is the American it would be based in Russia. What I think will happen I’m season 4- I think El will find another number from the lab in the new place she lives in. The new number would probably have a power of telepathy so because of this I think El and a new number would combine their powers to try and save Hopper and get him back to the USA. The others would also be helping the numbers out to try save Hopper. Though, I think the demogorgon returns in season 4 since in the spoiler with the American at the end of season 3 we see the Demogorgon return- this could show the return of the monster!
