Vecna

So if anyone has seen the rumors that Kali is returning I'd like to share my theory about her and her role in Season 5. We all know episode 7 is a controversial episode for placement reasons and honestly just bad writing. I personally didnt mind Kali at all it was just her weirdo friends that were the problem. Anyway well if you remember Kali was the first person to tell Eleven that channeling her anger will make her stronger all she needs to do is think of a hurtful memory. Now in Season 4, Henry/Vecna/001 tells her the same exact thing, he also mentions Kali so we know that her and Vecna had some sort of friendship during her time at the lab. I believe Vecna is the one that told Kali this initially, who then told Eleven later in life. Now Kali, is one of the only test subjects that has different powers than the rest. She can make people see and not see whatever she chooses. These powers are similar to Vecna and I believe Kali may be key to defeating Vecna, which is why Terry Ives(El's mom) sent Eleven to go to Kali. More on that another time but its also possible Terry knows more about the lab and Vecna/Brenner/mind flayer than she is currently capable of expressing.

Season 1: The best of all. I dont think any show has ever produced a perfect season of television but if it was possible, this would be it. The atmosphere, storytelling, and characters were all new at this point and it was a great intro to the story. Music was also the peak here. My opinion might be biased based on nostalgia for the time I watched it.

Season 2: A great follow up to Season 1. They kept the same atmosphere and were loyal to the characterization. Good character development this season. Love the Halloween setting, and again, nostalgia for the time in my life that I watched it.

Season 4: Arguably the most epic in scale, I like the callbacks they made to past seasons and tied all the storylines together. Vecna is by far the best villian, and it's crazy to know he pulled all the strings from day one. When will is possessed in Season 2 he draws the same shadow monster Henry does as a child. He also speaks about the mind flayer as "him" but we now know this whole time hes talking about Vecna, since Vecna and the Mind Flayer are linked.

Season 3: I honestly think this whole season is filler. Its like an anime where you have Manga episodes but theres some filler you can watch that doesnt really progress the story any further. However, I do think this season is the funniest out of all, they really peaked in comedy here. The action sequences are cool too. The only thing that adds to the story is when Billy is talking to Eleven in a vision, he is talking through the Mind Flayer. But his mannerisms and tone of voice very much resembles Vecna, which we know was him this whole time now.

Conclusion: I like how this show is realistic in terms of we only know what the kids and adults know until further revealed. The group had every right to believe the main villian is the Mind Flayer, because there was no way to discover that Vecna was behind it. Until Vecna was infiltrating psychic contact, which he got from Elevens leg, and until Eleven went to Project Nina.

We all know Season 5 is gonna be about Will and his journey, with flashbacks about his time in the upside down. We know this from the BTS photos. I have a theory regarding unreleased footage dating all the way back to S1 E1. If you go back and look at the still images that go with the episodes on Netflix (Tv not smart phone) they all include actual shots that are included in that episode, every one EXCEPT S1E1. When will is running away from the Demogorgon he just runs straight to the shed and slams the door behind him, he then waits for it to arrive with a shotgun. In the still image, he is standing outside it observing the glowing light from the shed in what seems like a calm manner. I believe this may be after he vanished along with the Demogorgon, and I think Vecna is subjecting him to a vision.

Note- I have tried to make this post as neutral as possible without picking sides. As you might infer from my username, I am a Byler shipper however I have taken some help from some of my Mileven friends in order to gather evidence for their ship. Please do not start a fight and be kind. This is purely my opinion and it’s ok if you have others.

1.In favour of a Mileven endgame-

Why would the Duffers make a traumatised boy like his best friend for 2 seasons only for a Mileven endgame?

Here are my points-

I) The Duffers have emphasised on the fact that Will is going to be a major part of season 5 (finally). Going along with the path that they have chosen for the last few seasons, it would be plausible for Will’s storyline to consist of lot of angst and drama this season.

With many suspecting the connection between Vecna and Will might be greater for the finale, it would make sense for him to torment Will about his insecurities about Mike. This will probably be made greater given the fact that Eleven and Mike date again.

This might also release some inner anger from Will and give way to a possible villain arc. Will could team up with Vecna, since it had been hinted in Season 4 that Will and Vecna had a lot of similarities as a child. Mileven happening could be an awakening to a villain arc and unleash a lot of possible character development.

As for Mike, we might see him in the final season trying to figure out his feelings for Eleven. While he couldn’t say ‘love’ in the majority of season 4 to Eleven, it could be interesting for him to figure out himself and find the inner meaning of the word.

Also, the Duffers have said that they would focus on the plot this season. They said that they wanted to reduce screen time and really focus on the original aspects of stranger things. This could mean that they can’t give enough screen time to two love triangles (Stancy, Jancy and Byler,Mileven). So they just might go with the easier route and make Mileven endgame in order to cut screen time.

However, even if Mileven is made to be endgame, I do think that Will will have a sort of confession scene to Mike. Mike can either choose to accept the feelings or he could reject the feelings for Will to grow depressed again.

Do I think that Mileven could be endgame? Maybe? If set right by the Duffers, it could be a satisfying ending to the series. Even though I do prefer Byler, I am going to be alright if Mileven is made endgame.

This is in favour of a Byler endgame-

Why would the Duffers make Mileven a canon ship for 4 seasons only for Byler to be endgame?

Here are my points-

One of the main reasons why fans love the show so much is because we get to see characters grow and develop into mature human beings. For example, in season 4, we saw Max trying to cope up with the fact that Billy is dead.

With that in mind, it would make sense for the final season to conclude with Eleven figuring out who she really is as a person.

In season 3, Eleven didn’t know that she could have her own preferences and like whatever she wants to. She didn’t know that she could choose and like her own clothes, nevertheless that she could like the boy that she wanted.

Max was the person who showed Eleven how to live a life without boys. She also looked a little bit free and happier with her surroundings after she broke up with Mike in season 3. Mike also doesn’t seem to treat Eleven the way that she wants him too.

As for Mike, it’s evident that he doesn’t really know how to reciprocate his feelings for Eleven. After seeing his parents, he knows the impact of the word ‘love’ and he doesn’t really know if he’s ready to tell Eleven that yet. With the whole show being set in the 80’s, it would be interesting to see how Mike would react to his feelings (if he has any) towards Will. Maybe an ally (Robin or Vickie) could help Mike figure out his feelings.

While I’m not saying that Mileven is toxic, it’s definitely good for both Mike and Eleven if they take a break from dating. Eleven definitely needs some time on her own to understand the world and find her independence before getting into a relationship. Mike needs some time to define his relationship towards Eleven and Will.

And I’m not saying that Byler is going to be any better. Will already has a broken heart due to seeing his best friend/crush replace him with a girl that he had known for one week. While his broken heart might be fixed if Byler happens, I kind of get the toxicity vibes from Mike( in a way ig?). But Mike definitely needs a person who he could depend on and that person could be Will.

I don’t think that Byler is going to be a full-blown relationship due to the restrictions in the 1980’s and screen time in Season 5. We probably would have a coming out scene where Will tells about his sexuality to few close people like Jonathan, Joyce and Hopper.

Do I think that Byler is going to be endgame? As much as I hate to admit it as a Byler shipper, the chances are pretty slim( 15%?). And then again I don’t think that Mileven is going to be endgame either. I think that the Duffers are going to make neither endgame.

Whatever the Duffers do though, I hope that they give a satisfactory ending to this wonderful series!

I love the show I all the seasons. I also love all the character even the evils too. My favorite one would be Vecna. He the best and he also scaring too. I love it.

Ik I'm about to piss someone off, but I really dont like The First Shadow.

It doesn't really line up with the original time line in the actual show. It clearly hows that Henry was 12 when he killed his parents and was not a highschool student. I also dont like the way he got his power in the play. I more like the idea of him gaining powers because of physiological ab*se (sort of like Matilda or Carrie), but making him possessed just seemed cheesy idk. I also don't understand Patty's character, idk it just didnt make sense. To me, she didnt really play a big role like she was made out to. Her character has so much potential and it just didnt work. I feel like they milked the whole possessing thing a bit to much, instead of making Henry willingly do it like he did in the original show.

Mike - 50%. Only way I see him dying is if vecna kills him to get to El, which I find unlikely

Will- 90%. I think he is connected to vecna and the only way to kill Vecna is for Will to die

Dustin - 10%. I think he is very safe

Lucas - 10%. Similarly to Dustin, he is very much safe

Max - 25%. They kept her alive for a reason, I highly doubt she will die again

Hopper - 25%. Similarly to Max, we already experienced his death so I don't think he will die

Joyce - 10%. I highly doubt her death at all
