I think it’s really interesting seeing almost ZERO pocs till s4 though. Like you can actually see the times change and shows become more inclusive. My personal headcanon though is that after everything that’s happened the cost of living there decreased so more non white people could afford to live there

While there was def both (rewatching Season 1 rn with my Grandma, who has never seen it before. She is enjoying it so far btw), I think the show did focus a bit more on the homophobia in Hawkins than the racism in Hawkins.

That could just be what I noticed tho.
