That . . . makes a lot of sense. But if you think about it, the real person you need to blame is whoever put the Russians in Hawkins. Suzie may have saved the world, but Hopper could have saved it better if he were in Hawkins with the rest of the crew. Although . . . yours is kind of a better explanation.

Yeah, definitely, the Russians are most to blame. Mayor Kline too, since he allowed the Russians in Hawkins.

@Durga1239 Actually, Suzie was never at fault, except Hopper's capture due to her delay because Billy was going to die regardless.

In S2- the reason they dont close the gate sooner was because Will was possessed by the MF, if they did, he would have died.

Similary, in S3, we see that as the gate closes, the Spider Monster also dies. Same with Billy, we also start to die because the gate closed and due to the big hole in his chest.

So even if Suzie gave the code sooner, billy would have die and then we would not able to see the redemption arc Billy gets, his scarifice.
