@Michaelback -- Normally, Netflix releases a new season of a show on a Friday ("Wednesday" is an exception - for obvious reasons it is released on a Wednesday). November 27 will be a Thursday, so will not likely be the release date for that reason. Also, November 27 will be Thanksgiving, at least in the US.

Season 1 was released on July 15 -2016 - - a Friday

Season 2 was released on October 27, 2017 - - a Friday

Season 3 was released on July 4, 2019 - not a Friday but the 4th of July holiday played such a major role in season 3, that they released it on the 4th

Season 4 part 1 was released on May 27, 2022 - a Friday

Season 4 part 2 was released on July 1, 2022 - a Friday.

The fifth season seems to be set in the spring of 1987, so there would be no reason to try to release it on the Thanksgiving holiday.

@Averhoes I’m pretty sure it takes place in the fall of 1987, not the spring, which would make perfect sense for a thanksgiving release date. In fact, some set photos/leaks have hinted that it takes place around thanksgiving, such as a poster at Hawkins middle or high school (idk which one) announcing a school thanksgiving celebration, or a photo of Lucas’s watch with the date November 12 on it.

Also, although in the past, movies and tv shows have almost always come out on Fridays, recently Netflix has started releasing things on Thursdays. I’m not entirely sure why they’ve started doing this, but if you look at any big movies or new seasons of big tv shows that have come out in the last year or two on Netflix, you’ll see that many of them come out on thursdays (some examples that come to mind are Black Mirror season 6 and 7 and Ginny and Georgia season 3, although there are many others, those are just the only ones that come to mind right now).

So overall, I think a November 27 release date would make lots of sense.

@BobNewby78 - You are 100% right - I had misremembered that is apparently set in the fall, not the spring -- stupid me. But I still doubt the November 27 date.
