I miss Brenner so much. Poor guy didn't deserve to die. HE CARED FOR EL. Sorry guys but like he's awesome and amazing so yeah you get it.

@RisingPhoenix828 @PresidentSmith609 I completely agree with you guys. He’s such a complex character and even though he’s treated and portrayed like a villain, he’s extremely complex. He’s super smart, super charismatic, and I love the way Matthew Modine acts when he’s playing Brenner. He's arguably the most brilliant character in the show.
@BobNewby78 Yeah, truly.
(thou we are not glorifing his acts of experimenting on childrens, and saying it was correct)
@PresidentSmith609 Whilst I do firmly believe he is a complex character and one of the more fascinating. I cannot like him nor even try to claim he cared for El, maybe in his delusional mind he did, but truly? No way
I mean he was a great villain but not my favorite character
I was happy when he died because he treated Eleven poorly and she didn’t have a good life
Plus he had to rope her back in the final season just to get some answers on Henry
All he cared about was finding Henry
He didn’t care what happened to the others
Well, admittedly, this show has given us much more hateable villains.
He had a job to do, and yet he connected to Eleven despite his narcissism. According to some psychologists, she could be diagnosed with PTSD were she a real person, and this is due to Brenner and the imprisonment with other subjects. To him, the ends justified the means. Her flashbacks include forceful handling, isolation treatment, and eventually revealing (in later episodes) shocks by tasers on the child test subjects, electric taser clubs, and neck shock collars. Yet her tormentor - the Dr. Brenner is her caregiver, setting up the conflict which can create attachment disorder. It made El a mess.
Unpopular opinion but although he was kinda "the worse" , I kinda felt bad that he died in s4
I agree, in a small way, because he had feelings for her and truly believed he was doing the best for her. We can have empathy for his character and still understand who he is—a researcher trying to create new tools to use against enemies of the USA. Like the Russians. Even Millie said El sees the warmth in him, a strange kind of love. It’s a tribute to Mathew Modine’s acting ability.
@Respiratorydw Never said better!
NO you can't be serious. He DEFINITELY deserved to die. What do you mean he cared for El???
What do you think?
