Flashbacks happen about the past, not of the future.

They should be filming the last episode now- I like @PresidentSmith609 's assertion that this is an epilogue - -do you have any other info to confirm that this is some kind of epilogue scene?

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he did. He's an expendable charcter, and it would make more sense for him to go than Hopper.
