You say she called people homophobic (which she did not, she talked about homophobic statements) and you have a problem with that, but you say she seems like a close-minded, egoistical person and that’s okay??

She pretty much said that it’s definitely possible that you’re NOT homophobic, but it’s nevertheless a homophobic statement.

@SofiatheHufflepuff sorry, I forgot to respond to you. So I know that being gay is NOT a choice, but because Robin is a fictional character, and she was “created” by the Duffer brothers, the Duffer brothers did choose to make her gay, so that’s what ppl mean when they say that making Robin gay was a mistake. They’re not saying that Robin choosing to be gay was a mistake, as she never actually chose to be gay, that was just how the Duffers chose her character to be. Do you understand it now?

I'm going to address a few things here and then close it. First, in response to the original post: Robin and Steve are truly a great duo, but part of their greatness lies in their friendship. Not a romance. Having them be a couple would have been the most predictable plotline, and would have greatly changed the nature of their relationship. As friends, they can almost have that sibling dynamic, and I personally think it's a great representation of how girls and guys can be best friends without getting involved. Also to have Steve be so openly accepting of Robin? Gold. We haven't seen that with Will yet.

Second, Flaunting the Weird did not call anyone homophobic, but simply pointed out that we need to be careful with how we word things, because it could be interpreted as homophobic and make queer people feel deeply uncomfortable. It's about respect. We are working on making this an accepting and respectful community, and there will always be more work to be done. But in each interaction like this, we have a chance to learn how to be more respectful and grow as people and as a community.
