@Fisher Fan I have been speculating for a while that he would likely not return, since (a) there appears to be a time lapse between season 4 and 5 and (b) it makes no sense for Argyle not to "go home" to Lenora Hills.

Other characters I do not think will likely return are the Russians (Dmitri/Yuri).

Because Argyle wasn’t left behind. He was seen back in Hawkins. He was in the forest I think picking out leaves which is why Nancy made the comment on what Argyle was doing to Jonathan as they were fixing the cabin.

He is in Hawkins but he just disappears after Hopper and Joyce return and then the group was seen looking at the mystery black smoke destroying the fields

@Optimusprimebumblebee "Neo Astral-X" 123 Keep in mind that "home" for Argyle is Lenora Hills. He drove his friends to Hawkins in 1986, but why would he then remain in Hawkins indefinitely? There apparently will be a time jump between season 4 and season 5, so why would he stay in Lenora Hills?
