A possible Kali plot hole

So this has been in my head for a long time and I would like to share my thought

I don't recall if this was ever mentioned but what happened to Kail in Hawkins labs in season 4?

Let me start with the context

As we know when Terry came to Hawkins Labs she found Eleven and Kali in the rainbow room together.

However in season 4 Kali is nowhere present in the Hawkins Lab when Eleven relived her past.

Did she escape (which I am not sure if that's even possible)?

I mean if she was in Hawkins Labs at that time she would have been one of the victims when Henry began his attack on everyone, but she is alive.

So I believe this a plot hole for the character

Then how was she able to leave since it seems Brenner wouldn’t willing let anyone leave

You really think Brenner would just allow someone like Kali to leave Hawkins Labs while everyone else has to stay?

In S4, we get to know that Kali had escaped the lab before the massacre.

If you remember, she possese the power of illusion. So i think, when she grew older, she was able to easily harness the power and make it stronger. She used her power to escape the lab.

In S2E7, we saw that during the police raid, she was able to make herself and her group disappear. So she was able to escape the lab in the same way.

So its not a plot hole at all. Its alreay explained in the series.

Most likely you forgot about it.
