Hopper's "death" made me pretty close to crying, and Max's death had me full on crying with tears and everything. But to be honest, I think my reaction to Max's death was slightly different situation---I was on the verge of tears for most of the last episodes in S4, so I guess that was the final straw and I couldn't take it anymore. But overall, still Max. Hopper would be a close second.
