To me, he was a bit of a mean and rude jerk in this season. In The Mall Rats, he turned down Will's offer to play DnD with him and lied to Eleven. But during the season 3 finale, he did put Eleven's needs before his own, which was sweet.

He is much better than you give him credit for:
-- he comes up with the plan for the sauna test.
-- when El is fighting Billy in the sauna room, it is Mike who hits Billy with a club to assist her.
-- When El is unconscious in the mall, it is Mike who tries to confront Billy single-handed (and gets slammed against a wall).
-- it is Mike who worries that El is overusing her powers, and who fears for her safety if she meets Billy in the "void"
I could go on, but my point is that the viewers have tended to latch on to a few immature moments in Mike's life. When the going got tough - he was always there for Eleven and for his other friends.
Well, he was really a bad friend, but it's his choice if he doesn't want to play D&D. He only lied to Eleven because Hopper forced him to.
He was flanderized a bit, but he wasn't as bad as people say he was. Kid is also a tad bit older than what he was in S1 and 2, makes sense with raging teen hormones and shit
He made will start to cry and that made him destroy one of his favorite things and he could of chosen not to lie to Eleven but he did.
@Harryliamlouiszayniall He made Will start to cry because he didn't want to play D&D. He has the right not to have to play D&D... and he couldn't have chosen not to lie to Eleven; Hopper literally threatened him
I say he was still the same fun character
Even though he was a little hurtful to Eleven but he is still the same character
But in the end I am glad their relationship got back to the way it was
Didn't like that he was a drama character and his dynamic in S3 hurt Hopper's character a lot. I like that he learns to respect El as her own person who knows what she's doing (and who can forget the Will D&D memes from the season)
I just...dont like him.Now please dont attack me,i just dont enjoy the way he interacts with most of the characters.i really liked him in season one and two and if the duffer brothers had kept his character the way it was,he would be in my top ten.no hate to mike,or any people who like mike.
(im also not a fan of how he wouldnt play dnd with will at all in s3 but then joined a party and became enthusiastic about the game when will moves away.cmon man.seriously?)
Mike is a jerk. He only cares about himself and his girlfriend.
He thinks he has the hardest life and no one else has suffered more than him
What do you think?
