What's really interesting about this show is that it starts with good goalposts, such as not lying to your friends. They hammer that message home in Season 1, but as the show matures (along with the kids), it reveals that sometimes keeping that promise is easier said than done. People become self-conscious, start to doubt their own worthiness, mess up, and lie. That's a normal part of being human.
At this point, the question becomes, "how will you respond when you lie to someone you love, or think someone you love is lying to you? What comes next?" I think our response says the most about our character, and reveals whether you've grown up or not.
