This face-off is interesting to me because there’s a lot of similarities between these two antagonists:
Vecna preys on young people who suffer from traumatic experiences. Pennywise preys on young people through their fears. Not quite the same, but you can see the parallels in their predatory ways.
Like mentioned above, Vecna and Pennywise both prey on young individuals.
Although their powers of possession are very different, both of these antagonists can possess their prey and force them into a vulnerable state: Vecna does this through entering the minds of his victims and haunting their thoughts, eventually possessing them in his realm. Pennywise possesses it’s victims by using it’s “deadlights” to completely paralyze it’s victims and put them in a trance-like state—pulling them in for the kill.
Both of these antagonists take a victim’s worse fear/experience and use it against them. Vecna does this by showing his victims glimpses of their traumatic experience before they meet their fate. Pennywise does this by taking a child’s worst fear and making it a reality.
Did you know that Vecna came back after 27 years just like Pennywise. They both get into people's heads and they both made the only girl in red hair in the group start floating with dead eyes. There are even more similarities,
