When he couldn’t get a hold of her through the radio and the others assumed Dustin made her up, he continue trying to reach out to her, even though everybody was gone. Like why would he continue doing that if she was fake?
It hurts that Dustin's friends immediately didn't believe she existed. And Steve did right away. Well it makes sense because Steve is Dustin's best friend. And I knew from the beginning that she was real. If he didn't have a gf, then why mention it?
