I’m gonna use quotes from this interview that will make sense out of context so no need to watch the interview but if you want it i’ll put the link here.
Ok anyways so there’s a quote that many mileven shippers are using to speculate that byler won’t happen and i want to talk about that and how i view it. i also wanna talk about how this heavily hints that stancy isn’t gonna happen again.
Quotes:
“it’s not like there’s gonna be time to explore our characters love life and how steve’s dating is going, there’s gonna be none of that it’s just gonna be going like 100 miles an hour.”
”season 5 is about everyone coming back. the original group of boys + el. we’re gonna get to re-explore season 1s dynamics. this will set up how everything is going to come back together. not just with will, but with nancy and her relationship with steve and jonathan where things are not fully resolved.”
Byler
They say there won’t be time to explore character’s love life’s much. to me this means they’re not gonna make something endgame if they haven’t already basically had it built up from the start. they’re not adding new things and they’re not gonna heavily explore anything that hasn’t already been in there. many mileven shippers have said this proves byler won’t happen because it’s not happened before. the way i look at it, they say there’s not gonna be anything new explored but to me, byler wouldn’t be considered something new. it wouldn’t be something they would have to very deeply build up in s5 for it to make sense because they’ve already done that since the beginning. they don’t need to focus on byler’s relationship the whole season because they already have that build-up there.
They said their gonna go back to what they had in the beginning and kind of tie it all up and i believe that means going back to the point where mikes love for will really showed. i believe their gonna have a lot of that in s5, as they’ve said their kind of going back to the earlier seasons dynamics so i’m excited for that.
Stancy
Of course when they said these words they focused on steve specifically and this leads me to believe stancy will not be endgame. they said their gonna be re-exploring the dynamics they had from the beginning in s1 and if you’ve seen s1, you should know that stancy did not work out. they also say their not gonna explore steve’s love life much more so i doubt stancy will happen. i believe jancy has been built up for a good while now and it makes complete since for them to be endgame.
Jancy
Im getting a little off topic of the original quotes here because they didn’t have to do with jancy but i wanted to discuss why i believe it makes sense for jancy to be endgame even though their relationship didn’t seem too stable in s4.
I believe their relationship in s4 showed them drifting apart because they weren’t used to being long distance. as we’ve seen their relationship was going great until jonathan moved so i believe their just not good long distance or they just weren’t used to it. yes, jonathan lied about collage and that’s definitely something he needs to own up to about, but i’m sure now that their back together he will eventually be 100% honest with her. as for nancy goes it does seem like she kinda started to trail back to steve but im hoping in s5 we will see nancy realize that it isn’t the best idea to go back to him after their toxic relationship before. yes, steve has changed and i’m so glad he thanked nancy for helping him with that, but i still don’t believe them getting back together is a good idea. i think they both need to accept that they learned something with that but they need to move on without restoring that relationship.
Of course it’s ok if you ship stancy i definitely respect your opinion but that’s just mine.
Im also a big parallel person and jancy, byler, lumax and jopper all seem to have parallels which to me i think tries to hint at the endgame couples. stancy and mileven also have parallels. (these are the two couples i believe won’t work out.)
Overall i believe that because they said they wouldn’t be focusing on steve’s love life, stancy won’t happen and i also believe that this interview wasn’t proof that we won’t get byler.
