Yep. Have you watched 1666? Because the main characters do something really smart and funny with the (blood) water guns, that could have prevented the deaths in 1994 if they did that earlier instead of puting blood Xs on their chests. The Party would not make that mistake or consider sacrificing a member. Seriously that scene is a major eyebrow raise.

YES I love it so much!! And yeah- I believe the characters would survive in Fear Street. And I think they'd be smart enough to come up with a good plan to get away/survive from the killers if they were ever attacked by them (they would stick together and wouldn't let even one person in the group die)
