I don’t think they will ever break up, but if they did and eleven met someone else I think eventually they would get back together.

I never fully supported the Mike and Eleven ship. They were cute at first then it got a little out of hand, in my opinion. He was really supportive and nice to her in Season 1 and a bit Season 2. But, I think it got a little weird after that as in Mike was kind of getting possessive and desperate. Eleven never thought of it that way because she too truly cared for him and she'd never had a boyfriend before so my guess was that she found it thrilling to be in a romantic relationship. Yes, she loved him too but this could also be another reason. So, if Eleven has new love interest, I'm alright by it. I think she would do better with someone else. Just my opinion.

I think if they do a few more seasons they might add another love interest to create relationship drama with mike and el, but all the character would probably do is make a love triangle with angsty jealous mike and bring el and mike further together
