CHANGED INFO ON SEASON 4 (SEE REPLIES)

There are reports on the internet of filming at two locations:

(a) Jackson, GA (which has been used in the past for downtown Hawkins. Filming apparently centered on the Butts County Courthouse (also known as the Hawkins Public Library).

(b) The Atlanta Motor Speedway. It is not clear if the race track itself is being used, or whether the are using the large parking lot, or some of the buildings, for filming.

@StrangerTrooper I doubt there will be any races. i am not even sure they used the track itself for filming.

I have a theory that season 4 will come out in about October, since that's when the end of Season 3, Episode 8 took place, when El and the Byers move away. (also, for season 3, Netflix released it at the time it was set, July, so I think it'd make sense.)

UPDATE- the race track was just used as "base camp" - to park vehicles and equipment....they actually filmed nearby.

So what is nearby:

To the south - woods. Possibly they filmed there.

East - Georgia State Fair grounds - flat, open - maybe they filmed there.

North - lots of parking/flat open ground -- then a trailer leasing place.

West - here is the intriguing one. There are aircraft hangers. LOTS of room to build a large indoor set of some sort. I wonder if they filmed at T-Bird Hangers?

So I did a search and found out that the Atlanta Motor Speedway Photos came from the Filming in Georgia Group Facebook page.

The poster in the video claimed that the leaked photo, came from the Filming in Georgia Group, but I couldn't find it on their Facebook page. I took a screen grab of the photo from the video.

If it's real, then this could be the set location of a prison yard, likely Kamatchka, and like the Lithuania set location, it would be dressed in fake snow. David Harbour is back in the US so this could mean he is still filming scenes for Kamchatka. The size of this set suggests that there will be a lot of extras. Also the size of the crews 'base camp' at the Speedway, would suggest that it could be used to transport, dress and makeup a large quantity of extras. If that is the case then this prison yard could be close to the Speedway.
